Hi! I’m Madi!
Madison Petersen
LCSW PMH-C
As a wife, a mom of two, and a fellow woman living in this world—I get it.
I’m a licensed clinical social worker and perinatal mental health-certified therapist in private practice in Tulsa, OK. I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2015. I’m deeply passionate about holding space for women during the many transformative seasons of their lives (not just becoming a mother), and I’m committed to positively impacting the landscape of maternal mental health.
I primarily do this through individual therapy for women in the childbearing years. I sit with women in all stages —from trying to conceive for the first time to navigating the complexities of subsequent pregnancies and postpartum experiences. I support women facing infertility or grieving pregnancy loss, and I walk alongside those preparing for parenthood with intention, as well as those processing unexpected or unplanned pregnancies.
All of this work is rich soil for growth. All of it is sacred to me.
In addition to therapy, I provide education and training to professionals through Q&A sessions, lunch-and-learns, workshops, podcast appearances and maternal mental health trainings. I find deep joy in connecting and collaborating with others in the pregnancy, birth, and women’s wellness communities. I truly believe we’re all on the same team—and I consider it an honor to be part of this work.
What to Expect
“What does therapy with you look like?”
I offer both in-person and Telehealth appointments to meet the needs of my clients.
I feel incredibly privileged to do the work I love in a space that’s rent-free and attached to my home. In my wildest dreams, I never imagined running my professional practice on my own property. But then again—what is mine and what are my plans, really? From the beginning, I’ve held this space with open hands and an open heart, asking, “How can I steward this well?”
I think you are part of the answer to that question.
Is it a little non-traditional? Yes.
But I believe that’s part of what makes this practice special. It offers a personal, private, and (dare I say?) luxurious environment to explore your inner world. You are absolutely worth that kind of care.
I hope you feel seen here.
I hope you can breathe deeply.
I hope you sense the intention behind every detail.
And I hope to see you here, soon.
“How do you see therapy?”
As a licensed clinical social worker, my work is guided by the core values of service, social justice, the dignity and worth of each person, the importance of human relationships, integrity, and competence. These values are not just ideals—they shape how I show up in the room with you.
I approach each client with a strengths-based and systems-informed perspective, considering the many layers—individual, relational, societal, spiritual—that influence your experience. I believe deeply in the power of relationship as a foundation for healing and growth, and I strive to offer a space where you feel respected, empowered, and safe.
Clinically, I integrate evidence-based approaches including narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, exposure-based interventions, and expressive arts techniques. I am also attuned to the impact of trauma on the nervous system, particularly in the perinatal period. My practice is relational, client-centered, and collaborative—I trust your inner wisdom and tailor our work to honor your voice and values
Ultimately, I hold this space with integrity and care, aiming to support meaningful, lasting change in your life.
“What will that feel like for me?”
In therapy, I hope you feel:
A deep exhale—a space to simply be, without judgment or pressure
Seen, heard, and valued—as you are, not just for what you're working through
Safe and supported, with gentle guidance that invites growth at your pace
Creative and curious, as we explore your story through expressive and narrative techniques
Empowered and resilient, especially as we face challenges using exposure-based tools
Grounded and regulated, with care for your nervous system and whole-person wellness
Affirmed and restored, especially in the sacred work of perinatal and maternal transitions
Collaborative, knowing you’re not doing this alone—I’m right there with you
